The commercial tree service driver involved in a fatal October school bus crash in New York state will not be forced to answer criminal charges tied to his role in the incident. Beginning October 1, 2021, every air traveler (ages 18 and older) will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States. Without an approved form of identification, you may not be allowed to pass through airport security or board your flight.

We continue to extend the expiration dates of valid Washington driver licenses. These extensions apply to personal driver licenses that expire on or after March 1, 2020, through September 30, 2020. This will allow drivers to continue to drive without penalty or incurring late fees.

  • If your license expires between March 1, 2020, and June 30, 2020, it’s already extended for 90 days. We extended it for another 90 days (for a total of 180 days). This means your driver license expires 6 months after the date shown on your license.
  • If your license expires between July 1, 2020 and September 30, 2020, it’s extended for 90 days. This means your driver license expires 3 months after the date shown on the license.

We encourage you to renew online during this extension period. Most Washington residents can renew their driver license, ID card, or vehicle registration online. We suspended the need to visit a licensing office every other renewal.

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Governor Kay Ivey signed a proclamation Tuesday authorizing a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) who shot at a moving vehicle on I-20/59 back in October, hitting the male driver leaving him paralyzed.

The incident happened back on October 8 around 10:42 p.m. on I-20 southbound in Tuscaloosa County. A family was traveling from Georgia to Texas to visit with family when a vehicle pulled alongside their GMC Yukon and began firing multiple rounds at the vehicle.

While gunfire narrowly missed the driver’s wife and their children, the driver was was hit in the back and was immediately paralyzed. Miraculously, he was able to shift the vehicle into neutral and maintained control of it until it stopped.

The man remains in long term rehab and it’s unknown if he’ll ever regain the use of his legs.

No suspects have been identified and the victims were uncertain of a description of the vehicle used during the chaotic event.
